Job Summary:
In this role, you will work on Embedded SW and HW related activities on electromechanical drug delivery devices, existing and future. You would participate in the development of multi-disciplinary products involving electronics, software, and mechanical design.
You would be involved in RT Embedded SW activities (code development, architecture, code review, failure investigation etc.) working in parallel to other SW developers, and when necessary, you would be involved in HW activities like Board Design activities (design, components selection, DRs, layout) and failure investigations and jigs.
You are required to demonstrate creative skills in a dynamic environment along with hands-on engineering. The position requires knowledge and experience in SW development and in electronics development for mass production and high reliability,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- RT Embedded SW development and debug, including units and integration tests.
- Perform Software code review.
- Perform device investigations (SW and HW) and write reports.
- Develop Electronics for the product and for supporting tools for high reliability.
- Board design.
- Perform Electronic testing and write accompanying documentation.
- Development and support for ATE, industrialization and manufacturing activities & processes.
- Knowledge of the complete product cycle of hardware design from requirements, design level block diagrams, board design, component selection, Schematic design, power estimation, simulation, PCBA Bring-up, Validation of Layout & Gerber, Test report, Risk Analysis with emphasis for mass production and high reliability.
- Define product specs, perform engineering testing, and perform HW verification.
- Write protocols, tests methods and create presentations related to design activities and perform necessary studies using various lab equipment.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Keep manager advised of all work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or electronics practical engineer.
- Minimum 5 years of SW development experience.
- Minimum 3 years of analog and digital HW design experience.
- Good English communication and writing skills.
- Relevant work history and/or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Preferred Knowledge, languages, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience and SW development and relevant SW tools and environment.
- Working knowledge of programing using Embedded C for various Microcontrollers in the market and working knowledge of communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
- Medical industry standards for SW development and risk.
- Proficient with electronic CAD tools (Altium or OrCad) and Microsoft Office products.
- Extensive hands-on board design experience.
- Excellent hardware debugging skills with the aid of advanced laboratory equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic. utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general & technical aspects of the job. Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies, and business practices to achieve results.
- Knowledge in PCB manufacturing processes and limitations and experience with mass production.
- Experience with integrating and verification tests electromechanical components and sensors.
- Experience with medical devices design and medical industry standards.
- Experience with writing design requirements, protocols, test reports etc.

Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 10 % of the time: Up to 26 business days per year.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Physical Requirements : Light – exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of force greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work .
