Responsibilities
We’re seeking an Associate User Assistance Developer (UAD) in SAP Digital Manufacturing. In this role, you’ll be part of the development team, working closely with Product Owners, Products Designers, Software Developers, and Release Managers. As an Associate User Assistance Developer, your responsibilities cover the entire product process from product design to product release. We jointly make sure that user assistance is an essential asset of our product.
- Creates technical documentation and considers potential interdependencies between SAP products when designing user assistance (UA) deliverables
- Creates UA deliverables that enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP software
- UA deliverables can include terminology, UI texts, guides, multimedia, scripts, context-sensitive help, tutorials, and social media content
- Ensures that the UA deliverables in different media and documentation align with SAP standards and guidelines, and actively drives continuous improvement
- Collaborates and communicates, as applicable, with internal stakeholders, such as subject-matter experts, user experience (UX), development, validation, and product support
- Identifies the information needs of, among others, the users of UA deliverables and other content by researching social media (for example, discussion forums on SAP SCN), and is aware of and responsive to what users are discussing
Role Requirements
- An eye for detail and a passion for delivering quality
- Proven experience in creating modern and easy-to-consume content
- You’re welcome to submit samples along with your application, such as academic essays, blog posts, scripted videos, and so on
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken first-language level English
- A positive, open-minded, and collaborative personality with strong self-management skills
- Experience writing at an academic and/or professional level
- Ability to deep dive into the first principles of technical subject matter
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- University degree (for example, in technical communication or a related subject, such as languages, translation, or media and communication studies)
- Co-op, internship, or equivalent professional experience in a writing-centric role is an asset
- Ability to create content in all formats with excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner with outstanding communication, writing, and grammar skills
