About the Role:

As a member of the Clinical Evidence Evaluation team, you will leverage your programming skills and expertise in claims and electronic health record (EHR) data to conduct timely and relevant analyses of real-world data sets across interventional cardiology, heart failure, and structural heart franchises. Your analyses will yield insights into post-market safety and performance across a diverse range of products. Additionally, you’ll contribute to broader clinical trial and business needs by assessing product utilization and target populations. Part of your role will involve exploring new claims and EHR data sources. Part of your role will involve exploring new claims data and EHR data sources with the goal of creating new and reinforcing existing labelling claims.

Your Responsibilities will Include:

  • Data analysis of medical coding and clinical real-world evidence to assess medical device product safety and performance, product utilization, and target populations.
  • Utilizing technical expertise regarding relational database, data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques programming languages (SQL, Python, R, SAS) to assess real world data.
  • Applying new methods for advanced analyses, create, monitor, review, and improve methods and techniques continuously.
  • Ensuring quality and replicability (i.e., through appropriate documentation and validation) of results
  • Collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to inform strategic activities related to clinical real-world evidence.
  • Demonstrate analytical experience utilizing large data sets to draw conclusions about product-related assessments, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze, significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in data science, public health, health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in extracting, organizing, and analyzing data from claims databases, electronic medical records, or registries using SAS, Python, Spark and/or R.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in data science, public health, health economics, informatics, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with interventional cardiology / heart failure / structural heart procedures and products.
  • Detail-oriented professional with a can-do attitude, focused on precision, accuracy, continuous learning, and skill development.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency when pursuing goals and completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience with quantitative validation of phenotype definitions in RWD and the coding vocabularies (e.g., ICD, CPT) used to define variables in RWD.
