Job Summary (Primary function)

The Sr Research Scientist, DMB is responsible for the DMPK support of discovery and/or development projects and may include conducting in vitro ADME assays, biotransformation,

transporter work, bioanalytical method validation, and bioanalysis of study samples utilizing LC-MS/MS.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Conduct routine cell culture procedures, including cell line maintenance, expansion, plating and cryopreservation.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks, including reagent preparation, analytical standard preparation, routine equipment maintenance, and supply management.
  • Collaborate with team members on large-scale cell preparation and maintenance for high throughput screening studies.
  • Perform DMPK/ADME in vitro assays including cell-based permeability (e.g. Caco-2), PAMPA, protein binding, substrate and inhibition drug transporter assays, etc. The cell-based assays are supporting both high throughput screening and more definitive/detailed studies meant to support kinetic and drug-drug interaction analyses.
  • Must have excellent sterile laboratory technique and be capable of establishing and maintaining long term cell cultures, including those of human origin.
  • With appropriate training must be able to independently analyze data, record data, prepare summary documents, and report data (written and oral) as needed.
  • Timely, accurate and compliant entry of experimental data into Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)
  • Perform LC-MS/MS quantitation of samples in a setting of discovery bioanalysis. This may include method development, validation, and conducting sample analysis.
  • Perform laboratory experiments with radioactive compounds in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and appropriate SOP trainings.
  • Write/contribute to reports for regulatory filings as needed.
  • Provide training to other scientists as required.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

·BS/MS degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience.

·DMPK knowledge and experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
