The PPEU Reporting and Operations Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing reporting processes and enhancing key operational activities within PPEU. You will drive end-to-end accountability for ensuring that data quality management, governance structures, operational processes, and reporting capabilities meet regulatory expectations while delivering against organizational goals.
You will work closely with PPEU, Global colleagues and leadership to ensure effective data management and reporting requirements in line with applicable requirements, including regulations and guidelines issued by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), Banque Centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) and European Central Bank (ECB).
To be successful, you will also have strong awareness and understanding of baseline requirements on data management from European-level bodies like the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Commission, and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS). You will be required to oversee the Data Management and Reporting Team and foster a high-performing culture within the function.
You will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Bank.
Reporting Framework Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Reporting Framework for PPEU that ensures that the Bank is able to demonstrate compliance with regulatory obligations and alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Ensure appropriate implementation of data management related governance structures, ensuring proper ownership, accountability, and effective control measures.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to produce accurate and timely reports for various stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Collaborate with relevant IT and data management teams to enhance data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
- Recommend refinements to internal processes to address gaps and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in all reporting and operational activities.
Data Quality and Governance Oversight:
- Drive the execution and oversight of Data Quality and Governance in compliance with Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting Requirements (RDARR) and BCBS-239 standards, ensuring internal practices align with regulatory expectations.
- Lead and coordinate first line efforts to mitigate risks associated with data management, providing strategy and oversight for data aggregation processes and control mechanisms.
- Implement processes to monitor data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and reliability across operational and financial reporting pipelines.
- Serve as a central point of accountability and coordination between operational teams, risk management, internal audit, compliance, and IT for data governance initiatives.
- Communicate results of data quality monitoring and governance efforts through regular reporting, highlighting key risks and progress toward compliance.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and efficiency gains, and implement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in reporting and operations to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate clear, consistent, and effective communication channels between senior management teams and technical units, including Compliance, Risk, IT, InfoSec, Internal Audit and Global Data Governance teams, amongst others, ensuring all parties are engaged and aligned.
- Prepare comprehensive status reports and presentations tailored for senior leadership and other key stakeholders to provide insight into program progress, challenges, and next steps.
- Work alongside the Global Regulatory Relations (GRR), Government Relations (GR) and Regulatory Compliance teams to cultivate and manage strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, maintaining open lines of dialogue and fostering trust to support smooth regulatory interactions.
- Engage and collaborate with industry working groups and forums focused on relevant regulatory matters, sharing best practices, gaining insights, and contributing to collective industry knowledge and compliance efforts.
Team Leadership & Management
- Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, ensuring clear objectives, development plans and performance management
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and regulatory excellence across the function.
- Act as a senior leader in the Operations Team, contributing to broader leadership discussions and cross functional initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in a reporting and operations management role, preferably within the Banking, Payments or broader Financial Services industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis, business intelligence tools, and reporting software.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience in leading diverse teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
