Your Role and Responsibilities
The Go To Market Product Manager is an entry level position for a self-motivated individual seeking a career path in product management.
The candidate will have a range of duties which include but are not limited to:
- Learning about and staying current on the IBM Storage Portfolio via education programs
- Applying the knowledge of our portfolio to assist the Best Practices and Product Management team with projects and deliverables.
- Data mining activities which consist of manipulating (sorting, filtering, extracting) data in Excel spreadsheets.
- Create and edit Sales assets using Microsoft Office products, primarily PowerPoint.
- Learn the basics of Apple Final Cut Pro, with the goal of assisting in production of various types of video projects such as Customer References.
- Once proficient with products and tools, applying creative skills to interview customers, partners and subject matter experts independently to create assets.
The Go To Market Product Manager is a band 7 position with opportunities to gain important skills for career development.
Once trained, the candidate will participate in Best Practices and Council projects such as
- Administering, organizing and maintaining the IBM Storage Best Practices video library,
- Using Final Cut Pro, producing short videos including software demonstrations, interviews, and other assets
- Using BOX.COM to organize and share video files
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Strong English language spoken, and written proficiency essential
- Strong organization, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with minimum real time supervision
- Ability to working closely with counterparts in the US via video conferencing
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Tools
- Intermediate Excel skills (manipulating data, filtering, searching, pivot tables)
- Familiarity and ability to navigate the Apple MacOS operating system
- Basic level skills editing video with Final Cut Pro or other video editing software. Be prepared to bring a sample video or other creative work to your interview
