Controls Management develop and implement the first line of defense governance and controls; working closely across lines of business within the Corporate & Investment Bank. The function is tasked with delivering against responsibilities in control design, implementation, evaluation, and representation to internal and external parties including cross-jurisdictional regulatory bodies.
As a Central Controls Program Manager Vice President in the Controls Management Team, you will manage multiple programs ensuring the end to end requirements are delivered whilst effectively influencing key stakeholders and communicating with the Front office. Management and negotiation will be required to ensure systemic enhancements are prioritized appropriately within the Technology teams to facilitate the successful delivery of the defined roadmap which will enhance controls, improve reporting and boost the user experience whilst maintaining adherence to policies and regulations.
Job responsibilities
- Help to define and own execution of strategy for across multiple control frameworks, designing effective end to end solutions both for new technology builds / user experience and manual control frameworks, partnering and influencing stakeholders to reach agreement
- Ensure readiness for Audit / Compliance review, documented procedure. Manage open Issues and Action Plans to closure as appropriate.
- Manage the Mobile program, ensuring all initiatives are planned appropriately by effective identification of actions, dependencies, time constraints and milestones.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across CIB and associated supporting functions though working groups and steering committees.
- Build effective partnerships with key delivery teams including Technology, Legal and Compliance, Control Managers and Front Office stakeholders.
- Lead personnel within the program team ensuring tasks are delegated responsibly, performance is managed correctly, and the team is motivated effectively. Further develop team capabilities in control framework management
- Involve in other key global, strategic initiatives, as directed
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Understanding of the Control Operational Risk framework requirements
- Proven experience as program manager or relevant role
- Excellent organizational, leadership and presentation skills
- Ability to problem solve, design end to end solutions and identify opportunities to continuously enhance existing processes
- Proactive, self-starter able to consistently deliver work of a high standard whilst under pressure, comfortable working independently in a dynamic and challenging environment; able to escalate effectively.
- Strong skills in time management with the ability to manage complex work plans, conflicting priorities and the ability to multi-task when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail and ability to present work accurately and professionally both verbally and in writing.
