What You’ll Do
  • Ensure Tesla operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations including recordkeeping, routine compliance evaluations, periodic air emissions and compliance reporting, and air emission source testing coordination with stakeholders (as needed)
  • Identify, assess, and control environmental/compliance risks by monitoring and analyzing the developing trends and changes in laws/rules/regulations and utilizing Management of Change (MOC) and other tracking tools for new and existing projects
  • Manage the application and permitting process for new projects, as assigned
  • Support audits and inquiries from regulatory federal, state, and/or local regulatory agencies
  • Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities, reviewing new or modified equipment and new programs to meet regulatory and company requirements; and recommend corrective actions to responsible stakeholders as necessary
  • Perform incident analysis to determine causal factors and the most appropriate corrective actions
  • Develop, track, report, and/or manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience with NSR and Title V permitting and compliance tasks, and managing regulatory/agency inspections or equivalent experience

  • Strong foundational knowledge of air quality laws (CAA, CEQA, NEPA, etc.), regulations, and standards including knowledge of federal NESHAP/MACT/NSPS requirements related to automobile manufacturing and refinish facilities is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience to understand various chemical and physical manufacturing processes and develop accurate emission inventories for air emissions reports and permit applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment, where demands and priorities change rapidly
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, engineers, legal counsel, technical specialists, and management, cross functionally, in a multi-disciplinary, global environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
