What to Expect We are looking for an organized and reliable Engineering Technician to support Cell Engineering lab operations. Candidates should have experience working in a lab environment and with hazardous materials. They should be familiar with operating and maintaining lab equipment. Experience with gloveboxes, fume hoods, cell materials, or cell cycling equipment is a plus. They should be able to work with lab management, other technicians, and Engineers to upkeep the lab operations.
What You’ll Do - Perform technical tasks around the lab such as mixing electrolytes inside a glovebox, conducting materials characterization measurements, and filling, measuring, and testing electrochemical cells. These tasks require a high level of attention to detail, focus, and organization
- Update and maintain accurate records of measurements and testing results. High level analysis of results is required to identify problems related to the process or instrumentation
- Promptly report any issues with lab operations and assist in finding suitable solutions
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for a wide variety of lab techniques and methodologies
- Maintain clean and organized lab spaces and track inventory for lab consumables to ensure they are restocked on time
- Troubleshoot instruments and manage regular maintenance schedules, working with other team members and the instrument vendors to keep equipment in good working order
What You’ll Bring - Good communication skills and well organized
- Experience working in a lab environment with hazardous materials and chemicals
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with cell cycling software, data analysis tools, or databasing is a plus
- Experience working with air-sensitive materials and/or battery materials is preferred
- Experience working with gloveboxes is a plus
