Job responsibilities
- Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
- Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
- Leads both deep delivery and “levels up” to ascertain, formulate, and communicate a clear strategic plan and approach
- Create and rollout a clear strategic plan and roadmap that will drive clear buy-in from all impacted stakeholders
- Independently and proactively assess through data to ensure requirements are clear and forward-thinking as we modernize the platform
- Navigate seamlessly through a complex web of products, teams, infrastructure that has legacy burdens and requires untying a large knot of previous technologies
- Engage leadership appropriately for support, updates, and partnering through headwinds
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- Technical Modernization experience including full platform rewrites, blank slate/evergreen approaches, and public/private cloud
- Experience processing large amounts of complex technical subject matter and translating them into business problems or impacts to solve
- Direct experience in formulating and communicating a clear product strategy in both written and verbal form
- Experience working with various stakeholders to gain necessary input to derive a proper product plan and delivery execution
- Prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Demonstrable track record as a strategic thought leader and tactical delivery manager
- Experience leading—and passion for—backend product/platform development
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Understanding of the broader financial services landscape with prior experience in retail banking/branch domains
- Demonstrable track record of strategic thought leadership and success delivering large-scale products in highly matrixed organizations
- Attacks challenges and pursues solutions in a highly proactive and organized manner and with a “sleeves-rolled-up” mentality
- Deep commitment to collaboration and teamwork with a diverse set of stakeholders, interpersonal skills and awareness, and a walls-down approach to solving difficult and complex problems.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner or technical certification(s) a plus
