What you'll do...
- Advocate Cost Culture within the company, with emphasis on the three rules of efficient costs: Don't Over Content (the vehicle), Don't Over Design (the content), and Don't Overpay (for the design)
- Leverage multiple sources of data to generate or investigate Don’t Over Design, Don’t Over Content, or Don’t Overpay opportunities
- Prepare for and support Cost Loop workshops to develop a bottom-up cost status by commodity for each control model
- Disposition material cost opportunities coming from Cost Loop workshops with the Teams of Four (To4)
- Create ad-hoc What-If Cost Studies to support strategic and tactical decision-making
- Attend and support Program forums such as the Program Steering Team (PST), Chief Program Engineering Decision Forum (CPE DF), and Finance PAT to represent the Material Cost Attribute
- Leverage Global Total Cost’s skill team departments: Benchmarking & Cost Attack, Global Vendor Tooling, Global Cost Estimating, Material Cost Data Architecture (Team Vector), Indirect Engineering, and Warranty Analytics
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Systems Engineering or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in Automotive Product Development (OEM, Tier 1 Supplier, etc.)
- Experience in analyzing Competitive Automotive Designs
Even better, you may have...
- Systems Engineering certification, Master of Science (MS) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience or certification in Systems Engineering
- Experience with Automotive financial income statements
