Your key responsibilities
- Develop a keen understanding of EY’s firm structure, GPS structure and operating model, and Finance/Accounting roadmap and initiatives. Influence roadmap adjustments, when needed
- Execute finance and finance technology transformation initiatives, including process redesign, defining business and functional requirements and building capability to manage and maintain systems/processes
- Work closely with vendors and implementation partners to ensure technology solutions meet business expectations, including needs assessments, configuration, testing and go-live support
- Prevent or minimize delays by elevating risks early, highlighting process or application interdependencies with key applications
- Collect and retain project artifacts to support audit requirements
- Partner with GPS Finance functional process owners and application owners to facilitate financial data transfers and automation
- Partner with change management support to accomplish key change objectives for the Finance team, including stakeholder assessment, training and communications efforts
- Maintains a continuous improvement approach to ensure processes and internal controls scale with changes in the GPS practice, technologies, finance and accounting policies, including streamlining of close, audit and reporting activities
- Work with key stakeholders in Finance, IT and Talent to identify future transformation initiatives
- Develop and maintains strong relationships across finance, accounting and other internal services teams
- Advise senior leadership on best-in-class practices and technologies, as well as current market trends impacting finance organizations, ideally in a government contracting environment and working in or adjacent to Deltek Costpoint
- Identify high-impact opportunities to strengthen the Finance team’s capabilities and knowledge base, as the GPS business evolves
- Other duties as assigned, as business needs evolve in support of GPS’s growth
- Strong leadership skills – able to lead conversations, explore new concepts, whiteboard processes, lead training, etc. in group settings
- Exceptional organization and project management skills
- Experience managing ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
- Ability to execute against project plan, managing to deadlines and mitigating risk
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong aptitude and passion for “telling a story” and driving to recommendations and conclusions
- High degree of innate curiosity and self-motivation
- Ability to influence others without relying on direct authority
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Related field
- Working knowledge of Federal rules and regulations, in a CAS compliant government contracting environment, with associated controls
- At least 8 years of experience in finance positions of increasing scope and responsibility in diverse, complex environments, including leadership experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
- Established track record of improving complex, cross-functional finance processes, ideally reporting to either a Director, Controller, or CFO
- Experience in finance transformation, including ERP implementation, acquisition integration, operational excellence, process optimization and organizational change
- Exposure to core government contracting finance life cycle including two or more of the following: budgeting, planning, pricing, and accounting.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Skilled with data manipulation
Ideally, you'll also have
- Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certification
- Consulting experience
- Advanced degree in Business, Data Analytics, or Information Systems p
- Experience developing new analytical frameworks and delivering to executives with a consultative approach
- Experience in a highly dynamic environment requiring partnership with numerous stakeholders
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment
What we offer

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,700 to $193,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,400 to $220,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
