System engineering is an interdisciplinary role that focuses on the design, integration and management of complex systems. The role of the Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer encompasses the complete product design and development life cycle including system concept development, system architecture, design, build, verification / qualification, certification support and in-service support. This includes supporting system and equipment qualification test activities.
Systems Engineer will be expected to work both independently and within a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will be expected to be a customer technical point of contact and may be required to lead global Honeywell resources and external suppliers to define and align product designs with customer requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The complete product (Life Support System) life cycle, including leading and co-ordinating:
System architecture definition, development and detailed design, which will involve interfacing to system performance analysis, system safety, system testing, electronic controls and the chief engineering organization.
Requirements management, involving:
The review and flow down of customer requirements to system and equipment specifications; including pneumatic equipment, electro-mechanical equipment and electronic controllers.
The identification of requirement means of compliance and the co-ordination of verification / qualification activities to ensure compliance to the customer requirements.
Global Honeywell resources and external suppliers to define and align product designs with customer requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering. However, other relevant degrees or equivalent qualifications would be considered along with experience.
Experience in mechanical systems engineering design and development.
Strong knowledge of pneumatic or mechanical system design principles and methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to interpret test results
Experience in requirements management, validation and verification. Experience in the use of the DOORS requirementsmanagement tool would be preferential.
