Job Description:
This is a senior-level Individual Contributor (IC) role designed to accelerate and
AI Product Strategy & Vision:
- Define and champion the overarching AI strategy for PayPal’s consumer
experience, aligning it with broader company goals. - Drive cross-functional conversations to identify and prioritize new use cases for agentic AI-driven experiences that uplift our product offerings.
Individual Contributor Leadership:
- As a senior individual contributor, set a high bar for AI product management
without having direct managerial responsibilities. - Operate at a strategic level, influencing leaders, engineers, designers, data
scientists, and other product managers to create and implement consumer AI
initiatives.
Collaboration & Enablement:
- Collaborate deeply with existing product teams to highlight opportunities for AI, supporting them in adopting best practices and modern AI techniques.
- Use your AI expertise to mentor and guide product teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, andimprovement—ultimatelyelevating all teams’ AI capabilities.
Consumer-Centric Agentic Experience:
- Conceive and refine AI-driven features that act on the user’s behalf, automating, augmenting, or adapting user workflows seamlessly.
- Partner with design teams to ensure agentic experiences are intuitive,
transparent, and aligned with PayPal’s brand principles of trust and security.
Execution & Delivery:
- Lead strategic discovery sessions, concept development, and feature definition, collaborating with engineering and data science leads.
- Develop robust business cases with measurable success criteria, and guide teams to deliver agentic AI experiences on schedule.
Ethical & Responsible AI:
- Advocate for and implement responsible AI principles, ensuring PayPal’s AI
Innovations uphold data integrity, privacy, fairness, and user trust. - Identify and address potential ethical considerations in new and existing AI
products.
Market & Technical Insight:
- Stay informed about competitive landscapes, emerging technologies, and market trends; translate those insights into actionable recommendations.
- Maintain relationships with research, data science, and industry experts to
continually refine and execute upon the AI strategy.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of product management or equivalent experience, with significant
focus on AI/ML-driven products. - Proven AI expertise (could be through academic background, professional
experience, or hands-on implementation) and a consistent track record of
influencing organizational change without direct authority. - Ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable product ideas and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Experience conceiving, launching, and scaling new AI-centric or “agentic” product experiences at consumer scale.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build trust with executives, engineers,
designers, data scientists, and other product managers. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to act as a coach and guide to teams eager to adopt AI solutions.
- Passion for identifying and implementing responsible AI practices, ensuring user trust and regulatory compliance.
