Role and Responsibilities

You will take ownership of a broad range of SCM-related topics, for proactively identifying potential issues and opportunities, anddeveloping/recommendingappropriate actions.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team that supports sales teams and works with HQ teams (e.g., Manufacturing, Global Sales, Process Innovation) and other SEA functions (e.g., Logistics, Packaging, Finance) while providing an effective check and balance to ensure that the sales teams are operating within targeted guidelines/risk thresholds
  • Manage and lead weekly “Pre-SCM” Day meetings with each account team, guiding the teams on appropriate changes to forecasts and relevant supply/demand information
  • Proactively identify both operating risks (e.g., over-aggressive forecast) and upside opportunities and escalate to leadership regularly
  • Advise Product management leadership on how SEA should allocate its product across customer accounts and channels
  • Develop a deep understanding of each sales team and channel: customer-specific operations, channel structure, etc.
  • Provide a horizontal view of SEA operations and a link between various account and functional teams
  • Develop and maintain expertise to be a Subject Matter Expert on Samsung SCM systems and processes, including Postponement and Weeks of Supply (WOS) management
    • As part of SME responsibilities, lead target-setting activities, specifically around Inventory Target Setting
  • Lead operationalization of SCM process enhancements and initiatives; ensure tight execution across all involved parties
  • Regularly participate and guide account teams during customer collaboration meetings (CPFR)
  • Work with HQ teams to ensure that Global SCM policies will provide US customers with excellent SCM support
  • Drive SEA’s adherence to SCM operational KPIs to ensure efficient operations; closely collaborate with account teams to create countermeasures and improvement plans
  • Guide team to develop and distribute Operational Reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly); develop/support responses to Ad Hoc requests by SEA and HQ executive leadership
  • Prepare Sr. Executive status update materials regularly
  • Support account and other functional teams by responding to SCM process/system inquiries and providing periodic training
  • Develop personal network across operational teams both at SEA (Mobile and Consumer Electronics) and HQ

Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of 12-15 years of supply chain / demand planning / forecast management / operations experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Supply chain operations and processes
  • Willingness to take ownership and work in a collaborative environment
  • High attention to detail with the ability to summarize key messages at executive levels
  • Strong analytical skills with a natural “intellectual curiosity”
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to articulate insights from analyses
  • Positive attitude and willingness to adapt
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in Telecom, Technology, Consumer Electronics, and/or Retail industries is preferred
  • In-depth Excel skills; strong PowerPoint skills; ability to quickly learn new software packages
  • Bilingual ability (English and Korean) preferred
