As aWastewater Operator in Training (OIT), you’ll be an essential member of a dedicated operations and maintenance team. Your role would involve monitoring, maintaining, and operating critical equipment to ensure safe and effective treatment of wastewater. By upholding regulatory requirements and exceeding standards, your work will help protect both public health and the environment.
Working collaboratively in a safety-focused, team-oriented setting, you will be based in
Traverse City, MI. Your tasks will include operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plant systems, participating in weekly team meetings, and performing daily facility operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance through preventive maintenance, accurate sampling and analysis, and consistent monitoring of plant operations and effluent quality.
Your responsibilities will also include diagnosing operational issues, making process control adjustments, and taking corrective actions as necessary. You’ll prepare operational reports, collect and analyze samples, perform laboratory testing, determine appropriate chemical dosing, keep detailed operational logs, and carry out other assigned duties.
