Senior Software Architect – Clinical Imaging Applications (Plymouth, MN)
You will be a pivotal technical leader within the high-performing Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) Software R&D group based in Plymouth, MN. In this technical leadership role, you will oversee the technical architecture and design of our Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) Clinical Imaging Application, significantly enhancing the clinical workflow for our physician customers and improving patients' lives.
Your role:
Provide technical guidance and direction to the software team on modern architectural and design principles to utilize for creating new clinical features. Work closely with solution architect and other software architects within IGT-D to create consistent best practices and satisfy Class II medical device software.
Work closely with Product Owner to align architecture and product vision and ensure architectural enablers are planned on the backlog. Leverage past architectural experience and strong C++ technical background to drive execution of new features that are high quality and meet real time performance requirements.
Responsible for creating DHF artifacts like Software Architecture Document with all the relevant information required by regulatory agencies like Software Functions, Architecture Decomposition and provide input other artifacts like Software Detailed Design Documents. Responsible for execution excellence and best practices across software development, CI/CD and automated testing.
Responsible for establishing and encouraging good architecture & design principles and coding guidelines within the software development team. Establish software development best practices including using design patterns, performing code reviews, configuring code scanning tools and mentoring software engineers.
Responsible for the documentation of software architecture and design satisfying regulatory requirements while also adhering to the Philips Quality Management System. Participate in risk management activities like Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to determine hazards, hazardous situations and identify risk control measures to implement.
You're the right fit if:
You have 10+ years of software architecture and software development working with tools like Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, CMake, SonarQube, Coverity etc.
You have experience working with medical imaging applications and experience with regulatory standards like IEC 62304, 82304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971. Preferred experience working in a SaMD environment and integrating AI/ML/DNN in a medical software architecture.
You’ve earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Your skills include excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

The pay range for this position in MN is $135,000 to $233,000
Additional Information
US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Plymouth, MN .
