Job Summary

The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) organization has over 700 staff members across the world. The team covers both global and business-aligned functions supporting the firm’s Anti-money laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-corruption programs and is led by the BSA/AML Officer and the AML Operations Executive. This position reports to the Global Financial Crimes Compliance - Sanctions Lead and is an integral part of GFCC responsibilities to protect the organization and to fulfill the Bank's regulatory requirements.

The job responsibilities of this Sanctions Compliance Officer position involve the completion of processes around regulatory promoten sanction list or internally developed watch list searches of transactions and account holders looking for designated high risk clients and sanctioned transactions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal Lines of Business (LOBs) and OFAC and responsible for all functions related to the restriction, blocking and unblocking of accounts/property.
  • Review blocked and rejected transactions from the various Compliance regions, request and obtain applicable indemnities, consult with management and assist in the preparation of the daily, weekly and annual blocked property reports sent to OFAC.
  • Be responsible for the monitoring, reporting, related to OFAC.
  • Be able to determine if there is a true match to a suspect name, review, analysis and decisioning on wire transactions and specific issues escalated to/from internal business units.
  • Validate positive search results and provide detailed research information to support the resolution of a match.
  • Provide written and verbal communication on issues with management, the lines of business and Compliance units, Performing and reviewing highly sensitive client and transaction search information, reporting, escalating and documenting results.
  • Be able to process high volumes and possess analytical ability, initiative, and a solution oriented mindset; Be a leader with attention to detail.
  • Have knowledge of banking process, service operations, products and systems
  • Work effectively in a deadline driven, diverse team/site environment.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as requested. Occasional travel and overtime may be required; the ability to work flexible hours is required

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Must have at least 3 years of banking experience and at least 1 year of Compliance,
  • Have strong written/verbal communication, leadership, proven high volume processing and analytical skills with the ability to work independently on multiple assignments simultaneously in a deadline driven, regulatory environment.
  • Have the ability to maintain high quality in a risk intensive environment.
  • Demonstrate cross-line of business knowledge of banking systems and products.
  • Possess strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Be self-reliant with a willingness to own problems and creatively find solutions.
  • Must be results oriented and have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess excellent project management and presentation skills.
  • Be flexible to work varying daytime hours to accommodate transactional, product, reporting and regional deadlines.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business Administration.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Legal or audit experience is highly desirable
  • Customer contact and service operations experience is a plus
  • Experience with Alteryx, or other data tools is a plus
  • AML, OFAC experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and payment transactions is preferred.
