Director responsible for U.S. tax international planning


PrimaryResponsibilities

  • Advise senior leadership on potential commercial offerings (products), commercial deals, transactions, international expansion, corporate structuring, etc. with respect to U.S. international tax issues. Identify tax-efficient structures and strategies to optimize the company’s global tax position.
  • Establish strong relationships, demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills to build a collaborative environment and foster opencommunication. Leadcross-functional working groups on complex initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Tax Department to provide internal support to increase process efficiencies
    e.g.
    , transfer pricing, provision andcompliance.
  • Interact effectively with PayPal finance leaders, corporate partners, and members of the tax

Job Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive U.S. international tax planning experience in a high-growth environment of similar or greater scale. Corporate tax department and financial services and/or technology industry experiencepreferred. Lawfirm or Big 4 experience a plus.
  • Strong technical expertise with respect to U.S. international tax law with experience evaluating and advising on complex tax positions, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII and foreign tax credit planning.
  • Experience with international structures and global complexityrequired. M&Aand transactional tax experience preferred. Strong understanding of the OECD’s Pillar Two framework required. Familiarity with ASC 740 and tax accounting principles a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required, with the ability to plan and execute at strategic and tactical levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively relate tax issues to non-tax personnel and especially skilled at communicating with upper management on a range of broad business plans.
  • Strong creative and analytical thought process, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Organizationally savvy. Able to challenge the status quo respectfully, and act as a catalyst within the organization. He/She should be a confident and personable individual, with a controlled ego and humble manner, who is able to work collaboratively inside and outside the tax department and build bridges at all levels of theenterprise.
  • A superior work ethic balanced by a sense of humor.
