APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop new materials for advanced lithium ion battery. Understand the organization's requirements which is high energy density next generation LIB realization and discover potential issues of given area of material development, and formulate an outline of an action plan. Figure out key factor, procedures, measurement way, and create Definition, solutions for materials, process and cell design. Build implementation plan and monthly result documentation of above. Produce and coordinate required budgets and forecasts. Identify potential external partners, assess their technologies, and take the role of communicating and establishing partnerships on strategic technology initiatives with internal partners. Lead and guide external partners, and conduct internal experiment to complete high energy density next generation LIB realization under ambitious timeline. International Travel Required 10%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 - $248,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Battery Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Test equipment and test procedures of rechargeable lithium battery products
  • Current state of the art production processes applicable to lithium rechargeable cells with novel materials knowledge
  • Analytical data of battery materials to utilize improved new materials solution or design.
  • Battery material designing basis
  • Experience and deep understanding about difference of practical and ideal Electrochemistry basis.
