As a Senior Manager of Software Engineeringwithin Fraud Risk under Corporate Technology,

Job responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
• Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
• Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
• Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
• Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 + years development experience in Java EE, with a deep understanding of the language and core API's, web services, multi-threaded/concurrent programming, XML, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture. In addition 2+ experience in managing technologists including their goals, career discussions and year end reviews
• Experience in implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture.
• Proficient in using SQL & NoSQL Database – Oracle or Cassandra
• Proficient in using performance testing tools like Jmeter, performance tuning, debugging & Profiling Tools
• Experience using Kafka
• Experience in working on cloud technologies preferably AWS.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience working at code level
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
