Tax Analyst - Southern Cone - Argentina & Chile
As Tax Analyst you will play a key role forensuring, executing, controlling and analyzing tax returns and compliance with the applicable law and requirements in Argentina and Chile.In this role you will be ableto work closely with the tax, finance and accounting teams to provide guidance on tax matters and support the organization's tax operations.
The Impact You Will Make In This Role
- Support on direct tax process and work with third-party provider to prepare direct tax returns and follow up from indirect tax activities with the company Shared Service Center.
- Responsible to execute the Withholding tax calculation, analyses and support for areas and the tax consultant and tax declarations.
- Bridge external consultants with internal consultation to tax personnel and businesses about direct and indirect tax issues and outputs for generally defined items of medium to high complexity requiring general understanding of principles, theories, concepts and analysis.
- Conduct tax related research and analysis requiring a general understanding of tax practices and procedures.
- Handle routine and straightforward correspondence with the external tax authorities.
- Provide support with the internal documentation to the external consulting for transfer pricing matters applicable to routine business transactions.
- Analyze compliance processes and/or the applications used in these processes, utilizing both tax and/or technical knowledge, to identify tax and work process issues in practice to minimize tax risks.
- Review, analyze and support tax provisions and accruals and tax bookings for financial transactions.
- Support the tax-audit team on tax audits and communications.
Your Skills And Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar
- Progressive experience in taxes, particularly in Federal and Provincial indirect taxes.
- Knowledge on Chilean tax laws and regulations.
- Strong command of Microsoft, Excel, Access to cope with big databases.
- Being based in Argentina
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- English skills is a plus (both verbal and written).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including networking and teamworking.
- Knowledge in government tax portals / websites
