R & D Engineer II
Responsible for providing mechanical engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive).
Key Responsibilities
- Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
- Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
- Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
- Write and submit intellectual property (patents).
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Investigates and evaluates existing technologies.
- Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred with 2-5 years related work experience OR 0-2 years with MS.
- Self-Starter with the ability to work independently to plan, schedule and execute activities necessary to meet project timelines.
- Ability to identify problems and solve them with root cause analysis, including designing and executing experimental plans and using statistical methodologies to drive data-based decisions.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience designing and evaluating test methods and fixtures.
- Ability to work hands-on with test systems and develop new test systems as needed.
- Working technical knowledge of implantable medical devices.
- Experience with commercialized product data management systems
- PE licensure preferred; a minimum of EIT certification desirable
- Fully Bilingual
