Serve as a subject matter expert in maintaining and upgrading tooling and fixtures used in powder coat and paint processes
Ensure 24/7 production operations by responding to and resolving breakdowns quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing powder coat and paint systems
Troubleshoot PLCs (including Siemens) and industrial robots (including Fanuc)
Drive continuous improvement of automated equipment to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost metrics
Conduct risk assessments and lead safety evaluations for equipment prior to launch
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new equipment and processes
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of hands-on experience working with automation and electromechanical systems, including troubleshooting PLCs, robotics, and vision systems
Practical experience with coating manufacturing processes, equipment, and assembly flow
Proven troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis, and problem-solving under tight timing constraints
Familiarity with 3D CAD packages, such as SolidWorks and CATIA, is a plus
Expertise in maintaining and upgrading tooling and fixtures used in Powder-coating systems
Experience working in paint shops or powder coating areas, including familiarity with powder supply systems, powder reclaim systems, dust collector systems, humidifier systems, IR ovens, pretreatment systems, overhead power and free conveyor systems, and sealant robotic dispense systems
Experience working with Controls Engineers and Process Engineers to sustain, maintain, and improve existing equipment
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, including lockout/tagout and arc flash procedures
