• Initiate and provide strategic /tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client /business area issues and in the development of a technical environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives.

• Participate in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client /business area.

• Serve as a single point of contact and the escalation point between the client /business area and internal management for the resolution of unresolved problems, complaints and complex service requests.

• Provide the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the support delivery process.

• Utilize Unix /Linux, Database (Sybase /SQL /Oracle), Perl, Shell scripting, Infrastructure, and ITIL process to troubleshoot and fix production issues.

• Set up monitoring and alerts in ITRS, Splunk or other equivalent Event Management systems to proactively detect potential issues that might disrupt the operations of the lines of business supported.

• Maintain production stability by using ITIL processes such as Incident, change, release and service management practices.

• Design and develop automation tools /scripts using Perl, Shell, Java or Python scripting to provide reports /data for internal and external clients supported.

• Define, record and execute application disaster recovery /Business Continuity plans (BCP) procedures and participate annual DR exercises.

• Perform Capacity /Demand Planning forecast by analyzing current application growth trends.

• Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related; and

• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.

• Must include 5 years of experience in each of the following:

• Utilizing Unix /Linux, Database (Sybase /SQL /Oracle), Perl, Shell scripting, Infrastructure, and ITIL process to troubleshoot and fix production issues;

• Setting up monitoring and alerts in ITRS, Splunk or other equivalent Event Management systems to proactively detect potential issues that might disrupt the operations of the lines of business supported;
