Job Summary (Primary function)
The Research Scientist, Analytical Development provides support for assigned small molecule drug development programs. Conducts routine and advanced analytical testing in support of pharmaceutical development activities related to both drug substance and drug product.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- Perform analyses using appropriate analytical techniques, e.g HPLC, LCMS, GC, Spectroscopic, and others to support process chemistry and formulation development.
- Understand and effectively utilize the principles of Analytical Chemistry to design new methodologies as required.
- Design and validate new analytical methods to meet research objectives.
- Interpret analytical data and effectively communicate results to chemists.
- Collaborate with other process chemistry and pharmaceutical development functions.
- Interpret data and prepare data summaries and reports.
- Maintain good documentation practices for the conduct and reporting of analytical testing.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of instrumentation.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
- B.S./M.S. in Chemistry or equivalent experience.
- >3 years of related analytical/pharmaceutical development experience.
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload independently.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP standards and basic statistics.
- Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
