The positionis responsible for performing and supporting the mechanical design activitiesassociated with the development of design concepts and validations for testsolutions within the Engines and Power Systems Organization. The designer is able to provide complexengineering design solutions across all the Honeywell sites. Also providedirect support and guidance to other less seasoned engineers. Applicant isresponsible for performing and supporting the design activities associated with3D modeling, detailing, development and design substantiation thru analyticalcapabilities (stress, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and energy release) of testequipment for the Engines and Power Systems Organization under the TestServices Mechanical Design Team, such as Vibration Fixtures, Lifting/Handlingdevices, Pneumatic Systems, Special Tools, Pipe Installations, Pressure vesselsamong others. The positionis responsible for design integrity of detailed component, system designintegrity, and integration of design elements at the assembly level as well asthe test equipment substantiation and manufacturability. Designershould be responsible for the validation of her/his designs through FiniteElement Analysis (FEA) using dedicated software such ANSYS workbench to evaluatedesign performance under working conditions such stress concentration anddeformation under applicable loads as well as thermal expansion and otherapplicable phenomenon. This positionrequires interaction with manufacturing, project engineering, quality andcustomer support groups. Position requires develop design concepts, 3D models,substantiation and support development of detailed drawings for the manufactureof components. This position requires the engineer be capableto work, and administrate several projects in parallel, executing on time andgood quality. The designer requires good management skills since he/her couldbe part of the focal point group for some of the sites we support, as well asdemonstrate the effective communication with the peers and customers to capturethe project’s requirements. Developssolutions to technical challenges by applying advanced physical science, andengineering technologies. Develops and assesses equipment, tooling gages, oracceptance equipment and processing methods required to test complex componentsand assemblies. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
• BS Mechanical Engineering,aerospace, mechatronics or Industrial.
• Engineering master’s degree ispreferable.
• 5-6 years Proficiency with CAD Toolsspecifically in NX, CATIA V5 and ProE knowledge is a plus). Basic Knowledge inAutoCAD.
• Professional with at least 5 yearsof experience in the Aerospace industry.
• 2-D Drawing Skills. Demonstrate aproficiency level on the detailing considering correct tolerances, GD&T,surface finishing, manufacturability, etc.
• Strong English written and oralcommunication skills a must.

• Works with self-direction, takesinitiative, exercises sound judgment, discretion and capable of complexdecision making in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong technical, analytical,organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and experience on the useof ASME standards as are the Y14.100 Drawing Practice, welding standardD17.1/D17.1M.
• AEP. Demonstrate experience andhandle of this procedures during the PDR, CDR, etc.
• Proficiency with FEA toolsspecifically in Ansys work bench. Ableto perform stress, modal, thermal growth, CFD and heat transfer analyses atcomponent and assembly level using Ansys workbench.
• Schedule management skills - managetasks to meet schedule.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M GeometricTolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) is required (certified or candidate tobe certified is a plus).
• DFM - Design for ManufacturingExperience.
• DFSS or Green Belt certifiedpreferable
• Able to successfully work in andpromote a team environment.
• Familiar with fabrication processes,welding, machining, grinding, etc.
• Provide direct support and guidanceto other less seasoned engineers.
• Use of Microsoft Office tools(Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project).
