UOP is an international supplier of process technology, products, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries and is a leader in the research and development of petroleum and petrochemical processing. Our broad objectives center on the continual development and improvement of petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas production, energy and chemical production technology We have an immediate opening for an Advanced Process Engineer within our Refining & Petrochemical division. Advanced process Engineer will be Accountable for: In general, the advanced Process Engineer within Modular group will act as a liaison between Schedule A and Modular as well as lead detail design and Fabricator. The responsibility of Process Engineer within equipment group will include but not limited to the following:

Meeting budgeted hours, planned schedule, and agreed-upon level of quality on assigned project work
Communicating with the project manager on required changes to budget, schedule, or quality level on assigned project work
Communicating with the project manager on progress on assigned project work
Checking the work of others for technical accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures
Communicating key decisions made on projects to others
HAZOP – represent Modular in HAZOP review meeting, obtain UOP (Schedule A/Tech Service) responses for open HAZOP recommendations and implement approved action items. -Draft Modular MFD and participate in Modular MFD review meeting – provide process know-how by answering questions that equipment specialists may have on functionality of equipment, the extent and purpose of heat tracing and insulation etc.
-Initiate and submit Schedule A deviation requests
-Generate specification for “By others” PSVs and update other required part as necessary
-Line list – populate process/design conditions of all lines using (1) provided Schedule A information, (2) GOM for special procedures (Start-up/Regeneration etc.) which can govern the design conditions of a given line -Participate in progress meeting with Detail Designer
-Respond to questions, provide explanation/verification/guidance to detail designer throughout the course of the detail design phase. This can be very time-consuming task when working with new and inexperienced Detail Designer
-Review hydraulic reports especially for pump/compressor/blowers and instrument circuits and communicate any discrepancy in NPSHa, head or pressure drop across control valves and flow orifice etc. to rotating and instrument specialists. Work with rotating and instrument specialists to resolve problems as necessary.
-Review PSV hydraulic report to ensure correct valve type was entered, inlet frictional loss and back pressure are within the acceptable limits
-3D model review - ensure Schedule A piping and equipment layout requirements as listed on P&ID, such as min distance, make connection on top of pipe, free draining etc. are met. Assist piping designer in identifying the optimal routing from one equipment to the next as necessary.
-Review final P&IDs against Schedule A P&IDs throughout Detail Design phase and document discrepancies, if any
-Preparation of RFQ and TBE for additional licensor
-Communicating with the Sales and Sales Support to support development of Modular project.
-OSBL conceptual design development based upon ISBL information to proceed to detail design activities.
-Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and 10~15 years’experience in EPC process design of chemical plant or petroleum refinery.
-Knowledge and experience in using Process Simulation orother software to do process design works.
-Knowledge and experience of understanding applicable codessuch as: ASME, API, ANSI, MSS etc
-Experience in reviewing engineering design data forcompleteness and consistency prior to completion of Issue for Fabricationreleases.
-Experience of Refinery or Petrochemical EPC project asProcess Engineer
-Multi-tasking abilities to maintain contributions onschedule for several projects simultaneously
-Ability to communicate well with suppliers in both writtenand verbally
