Job Description: APAC OfferingManager/Business Development Manager

  • Working with JV partner, build a winning and lasting conversion strategy and sign long term contracts capturing >50% of the 30M unit China market light vehicles with customer targets such as BYD, VW, Toyota, Geely, FAW, Changan, Wuling
  • Build a roadmap that accelerates conversion of Commercial Vehicles from HFC-134a to 1234yf in Japan, S. Korea, SEA and China as follows: heavy duty on-road vehicles (ie: Trucks, Bus, Trains) as well as off-road vehicles such as agriculture and construction vehicles. Look for opportunities in the marine segment as well.
  • Build the leading aftermarket network across APAC with our JV partners where needed: (1) build a winning strategy for 134a replacement products in the aftermarket as HFCs are phased out (2) leverage our JV and existing distributor positions in all countries to build winning coalitions where they make sense and (3) expand the distribution footprint where needed to support growth programs.
  • Develop relationships with co-suppliers and Tier 1s such as compressor producers, RRR service machine OEMs to allow us to work on industry issues faster and get to positive conclusions more often which will lead to faster growth.
  • Work closely with regulatory and industry association stakeholders in each country to understand regulatory changes and potential impacts on the business: such as JAMA, CATARC, MEE, etc across APAC.
  • Manage our trade show presence at OEM and aftermarket shows
  • Lead a 3-in-a-box approach with technology and sales on new customer development programs.
  • Work with VPGM to manage price and customer strategy for aftermarket and OEM segments

JOBACTIVITIES

  • 10 years experience as a marketing or BD professional
  • 25-35% travel required for customer or prospect visits
  • Role reports to the business OM leader based in the USA
  • Identifies, approaches and segments target customers in China, Japan, S. Korea and SEA
  • Comfortable working with lawyers on contracts and IP opportunities
  • Able to write and communicate clear value propositions
  • Works a consultant as opposed to a “seller” when working with customers
  • Formulates and achieves NPI growth plans
  • Deep understanding of regulations allowing customer discussions on complex issues
  • Understands cost and manages pricing and margins for the products
  • Comfortable working with both OEM and aftermarket customers
  • Experience in the automotive aftermarket desired
  • Builds customer relationships that lead to continuous business
  • Partners with distribution partners as needed to maximize HON value proposition across APAC
  • Develops alliances with partners down the value chain to speed growth/sales (co-suppliers, Tier 1 suppliers, Tier 2 suppliers)
  • Ensures that a robust pipeline of opportunities is being worked on
  • Partners with technology and sales 3 in-a-box to effectively build equity with customers
  • Designs pricing and channel strategies
  • Capable negotiator, comfortable designing long term contracts
  • Develops Go-To-Market strategies
  • Develop the MARCOM strategy including trade shows, local trade journal articles
