Large Capital Front-End Engineering Design Senior Manager*


As a LCAP FEED Engineering Senior Manager you will oversee a team of engineers to develop and execute high-quality Front-End Engineering & Design (FEED) packages for large capital projects. The multi-discipline engineers reporting to you will also provide ongoing oversight and technical leadership throughout the subsequent phases of detailed engineering, construction, and start-up.

As a LCAP FEED Engineering Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Planning and coordinating the work of FEED Engineers from preliminary design package development through construction and commissioning, ensuring operational, financial and project goals are met.
  • Leading the development and implementation of Front-End Loading (FEL) best practices driving enhanced efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, project controls specialists and construction managers to ensure FEL (Front-End Loading) quality is met with a focus on project scope definition, project execution planning, cost estimating, and schedule development.
  • Overseeing the preparation of engineering & design deliverables, plans and quality reviews ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and project teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks to scope, schedule, and cost through execution controls.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) years of experience in managing Capital Project Engineers or design Engineers in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience in anindustrial/manufacturingsetting
  • Experience in executing capital projects within a disciplined stage gate process

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in managing Capital Project or FEED Engineers in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
  • Experience in organizational development and leading organizational change

Work location:

  • Position can be remote
  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel toSt. Paulat least[3]days per week)
