About this role:
We are seeking a creative individual who can translate business, technology, and operational requirements for resiliency exercises involving Third Parties to test their resiliency capability.
This mid-level exercise practitioner will be responsible for owning the coordination and delivery of end-to-end enterprise exercises focused on TPP Resiliency Program.
In this role, you will:
- Drive the development of a Third-Party Provider (TPP) Resiliency program requirements with a focus on robust exercises and tests to validate business continuity and operational resilience plans.
- Coordinate the design and development of enterprise exercises, specifically aligned with TPP Resiliency Program for the company.
- Lead strategic planning process to develop and implement a comprehensive maturity roadmap, ensuring continuous enhancement of resilience capabilities and testing of Business Continuity capabilities for services performed by TPPs.
- Lead the design of exercise injects and events for operations-based exercises, including all relevant documentation, in such a way to challenge exercise participants and simulate real-world conditions.
- Facilitate enterprise and business group discussion-based exercises across cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Business Resiliency Leadership, Resiliency Leads, Business Owners, Primary Business Liaison Specialists, Line of Business Relationship Managers, Supplier Management Communication Specialists, Service Delivery managers at Vendors.
- Lead exercise participants in the identification of gaps, vulnerabilities, and related key findings resulting from the exercise.
- Create high-quality, executive-friendly facilitation guides, briefing documents, and supplemental materials using Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Generate comprehensive exercise After-Action Reports (AAR) summarizing key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for enhancing organizational resilience.
- Present exercise results and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting opportunities for improvement and investment.
- Ensure all exercise artifacts and supporting documents meet established deadlines and quality standards.
- Lead potential knock-on workshops or related exercises resulting from key learnings.
- Lead analysis of exercise findings, lessons learned and recommendations to derive key resiliency risks across the enterprise and drive proactive enhancements.
- Act as a Business Execution advisor to leadership to drive performance and initiatives and develop and implement information delivery or presentations to key stakeholders and senior management related to Exercise Program for TPP Resiliency Program.
- Participate in the (RCSA) Risk and Control Self-Assessment - process of identifying, recording, and assessing potential risks and related controls.
- Respond to and support External / regulatory requirements and Internal Audits involving exercises for TPP Resiliency Program.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges related to business execution that require solid analytical skills and understanding of business, delivering longer term and large-scale solutions for enhancement of the TPP Resiliency Program.
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise & implement innovative and significant business solutions that are large-scale and cross-organizational cutting across the Third Parties for Robust Exercise capability.
- Lead team meetings to facilitate decision making and support implementation of recommendations and plans around design and implementation of robust exercise program for TPP resiliency.
- Engage with all levels of professionals and managers across multiple lines of businesses and serve as an experienced advisor to the leadership in the domain of TPP Resiliency Program
- Provide direction to a cross functional team using business expertise.
- Contribute thought leadership and technical proficiency in the development of a strategic scenario library to underpin current and future maturity of TPP Resiliency exercises.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years ofBusiness Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planningexperience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Graduate with over 8+ years’ experience in Business Continuity or Resiliency
- Experience in financial services, cyber, business continuity or Third Party Provider (TPP) exercises.
- 8+ years of assessing and managing risks and controls.
- 8+ years of experience in driving change at large organizations.
- Demonstrable experience managing large-scale exercises.
- Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry and overall landscape involving Third Parties.
- Demonstrable experience with design, conduct, facilitation, and coordination of complex exercises across diverse participant set, including Senior Resources across Functions within the Organization and Third Parties.
- An excellent verbal and written communicator who can adapt to their audience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for driving results.
- Deep understanding of exercise methodologies, including Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), NIST SP 800-84, and FFIEC Business Continuity Management.
- Proven ability to build and implement an exercise series or program to address high priority threats and risks in a dynamic operational environment involving TPP.
- Experience with development, implementation, and monitoring of exercise program controls and metrics.
Job Expectations:
- Candidate must be based out of Wells Fargo core location and will be required to work in the office location (City of employment), as per organization’s In Office Adherence / Return to Office (RTO) at a minimum of 3 days per week

The exercise practitioner should have experience across the following key exercise disciplines:
- Business Continuity Planning Methodologies : Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessment, and Recovery Strategy Development.
- Cyber Security: Advanced knowledge and insights of cyber security fundamentals and industry guidance. Technical cyber exercise design, development, and execution.
- Operational Resilience: Experience with and vast knowledge of Bank of England’s 2019 Discussion Paper that refers to the ability of a firm to prevent, adapt to, respond to, recovery from, and learn from operational resilience, including Scenario Analysis testing and execution.
- Communications: Proven technical and business writer that can create exercise materials and content, such as an After-Action Report, which is in strict compliance with regulatory standards. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively covey ideas, build rapport with enterprise stakeholders, and synthesize complex information into easily digestible formats for exercise participant consumption.
- TPP Service Provider (TPP) Exercises: Experience designing, executing, and evaluating TPSP exercises as a component of enterprise critical services/products focused exercises. Experience should include TPSP engagement and inclusion of the TPSP in exercises.
- Exercise Scenario Development: Proficiency crafting realistic scenarios that simulate disruptions to enterprise business products, considering both internal and external threats.
- Exercise Documentation: Ability to create comprehensive exercise documentation, including exercise plans, participant orientation, injects, AARs and executive level briefings.
- Functional Exercises: Capability to organize and execute functional exercises that simulate the activation of business continuity plans and recovery procedures in a controlled environment.
- Tabletop Exercises: Experience in conducting tabletop exercises, which involve discussion-based scenarios to assess preparedness and decision-making capabilities.
- Post-Exercise Evaluation: Expertise in conducting thorough post-exercise evaluations, including gathering feedback, analyzing performance, and identifying lessons learned to inform future improvements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards governing business continuity planning and exercise requirements, such as FFIEC, DHS HSEEP, NIST, etc. A thorough understanding of financial institution’s laws, rules, and regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, risk management, and compliance, to ensure holistic exercise planning and execution.
- Professional Certification: DRII Certified Business Continuity Professional or Department of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program Master Practitioner or related certifications aligned with exercises, project management, or communications. CBCI or CBCP industry certification from The BCI, UK or DRII, USA.
Pay Range
$96,600.00 - $171,800.00
