Process Engineer - Machine Shop Lathes*As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading OEE continuous improvement efforts on the CNC Latheswith collaboration from operators, technicians and other engineers in the machine shop.
- Leading sustaining and new product introduction projects that deliver products and processes of validated consistent quality.
- Manage capital equipment procurement projects from ideation through quoting and implementation ensuring the incoming equipment performs as required.
- Determines priority of multiple project options that give the most value by thorough analysis utilizing lean and six sigma tools.
- Supports manufacturing operations to ensure uninterrupted quality production of life saving products.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Ten (10) years of CNC machining process engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
- Five (5) years of manufacturing engineering, process engineering or automation experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience with Tsugami (and Nakamuura) lathes.
- CNC Lathe programming and troubleshooting
- Self-motivated, self-starter ready to solve challenging problems
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Skills desired include:
- CAD/CAM software experience
- Fixturedevelopment/procurement/qualification
- OEE
- Organize manufacturing workflow throughout the machine shop including writing programs, tool and fixture loading, parts washing, deburring, 1st piece inspection, audits, workinstructions/operationsheets.
- SAP for recipe creation and material control
- GD&T
- CMM
- PFMEA
- DFM/A
- 3D CAD modeling fixture and tooling (Solidworks preferred)
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Lean Manufacturing methods and tools
- Kaizen Participant or Facilitator
- Operator instruction development/training
