ABOUT THE ROLE
This position requires determining the effects of radiation environments on various components and systems. Radiation test data will be collected and used to verify component behavior in a variety of radiation environments. Tasks include analyzing and interpreting test data and leading and/or participating on teams that resolve technical issues. This position requires close interfacing with customers, fellow radiation effects systems engineers and designers to assure proper component selections are made.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, develop and execute radiation tests on electrical components and systems.
- Design and develop component test hardware/software for various radiation environments.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures for radiation characterization and radiation lot acceptance tests.
- Analyze and interpret radiation test data.
- Conduct functional, performance, and qualification testing.
- Develop and execute detailed test schedules.
- Prepare radiation test & analysis reports.
- Prepare and present radiation results and achieve customer approvals.
- Provide work direction and support for other engineers and technicians.
- Experience working in radiation environments, radiation facilities, and dosimetry systems to include prompt dose, total dose, neutron, proton, and heavy ion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 3+ years of direct experience
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
