Platform Architect, IBM Corporation, Coppell, TX: Identify feature-specific technical requirements. Conduct thorough analysis of technical requirements and document them for review and sign-off with product management and release management teams. Design and architect client-specific platform engineering solutions using containerization and orchestration technologies configured to work with cloud-managed services that are provisioned and running in public cloud providers including various cloud platforms. Develop re-usable and extensible software libraries to automate the provisioning and management of complex containerized workload platform deployed on infrastructure hosted in client data centers and multiple hyperscale cloud service providers. Develop continuous integration and continuous delivery DevOps pipelines for end-to-end build and deployment of client-specific platform and applications workloads. Work with cloud service provider product engineering teams to provide feedback on specific services and identify gaps in the IaaS and PaaS layers that impact the design and development of platform engineering solutions. Participate in raising requirements with respective product engineering teams and ensure their deliverables optimize the platform engineering solutions and services projects. Train platform engineering services delivery teams and provide ongoing technical support to service delivery teams as part of client specific platform-engineering implementation projects. Develop re-usable software libraries to automate the implementation and configuration of site reliability engineering tasks for containerized application workloads. Plan, design, develop, publish, and maintain automation assets to provision and configure cloud platform resources on various tools and technologies. Develop continuous delivery pipelines using various tools and technologies. Utilize: AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, IBM Cloud, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, CI/CD Tools and GIT. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as an IT DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, IBM Cloud, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, CI/CD Tools and GIT.$139,464.00 to $166,562.76 per year.
