Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

PhD in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of relevant Gaming experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience

  • Comfortable working in large unfamiliar C/C++ codebases

  • Experience developing source-level game engine features/optimizations

  • Strong 3D graphics related mathematics background

  • Expertise with Vulkan, DirectX. OpenGL, or OpenGL ES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience shipping at least one commercial PC or console game

  • Familiarity with 3D graphics profilers and debuggers such as Snapdragon Profiler, RenderDoc, Pix, NSight, etc…

  • Familiar with modern PC/console game engine architectures

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages advanced knowledge of software gaming to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize visual fidelity, responsiveness, functionality, performance, and power of game applications for mobile, computer, XR, console, auto, and cloud products.

• Designs and develops highly advanced game rendering, engine, animation, artificial intelligence, networking, user interface, physics, and audio software and algorithms for optimal execution on the application processor.

• Develops and optimizes complex new game software, game engines and gaming tools and enhance existing commercial game engines for hardware targets and operating systems.

• Develops and utilizes gaming software running on CPU, GPU, DSP, NPU, DPU and other application processor components.

• Performs critical system level profiling and isolates highly complex gaming issues (e.g., rendered images, power, performance) through design experiments to identify root causes, debug issues, and develop solutions; addresses customer issues and helps others do the same.

• Performs critical pre- and post- target bring up game verification to validate correctness and ensure performance and power goals are met for top games.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.

• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

• Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

• Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions.

• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
