This role requires an individual with excellent technical leadership skills, intuitive business acumen, ability to effectively operate autonomously, and an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for an experienced engineer who is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and has the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.Key job responsibilities- Mitigate Risks. - Innovate & Deliver. Effectively deliver complex software systems & tools at the intersection of rapidly evolving science, planet-scale data, and distributed engineering.
- Stay informed. Establish mechanisms to stay up to date on latest scientific & techincal advancements in machine learning, LLMs, agentic AI, probabilistic forecasting, and realtime multi-objective optimization techniques. Identify opportunities to apply learnings in improving the efficiency and execution of our science platform and tools

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years experience programming in Python, Java, C++, or related language
- 3+ years experience in distributed software system architecture, design, and technical engineering leadership
- 3+ years experience in AWS technologies

- Experience with neural deep learning methods, machine learning, LLMs, or Generative AI
- Experience developing software for scientists and machine learning engineers
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Redshift, Spark, Snowflake, Athena, or related data access technologies
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration technologies
- Bachelors Degree
