Using your experience, you'll lead the development of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, network drawings, panel drawings, and instrument selection. You’ll coordinate with other engineering disciplines for a cohesive design. You’ll also contribute to the development and growth of people (e.g. mentoring junior engineers) both domestically and globally. You’ll be able to develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces and perform facility startups and commissioning activities. As well, you will be able to review constructions submittals, conduct site evaluations, make recommendations for control system upgrades, and communicate with clients and management.
We’ll Expect You To:
- Live in Oklahoma or relocate to Oklahoma within one year of employment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal experts, and stakeholders.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple deadlines.
- Work in an office environment or a client site 3-4 days per week or more.
- Utilize PLC Control systems, SCADA systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for large water/wastewater projects.
- Provide engineering and programming support for water, wastewater, municipal, and industrial clients in our local office and at client sites.
- Design, troubleshoot, and consult on SCADA and Operational Technology networks including PLCs, servers/workstation, network switches and firewalls.
- Utilize familiarity with ICS applications including event logging, domain controllers, network behavior anomaly detection systems, Operational Technology (OT) networks, hype converged and traditional servers, and anti-virus software.
- Prepare or review specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, perform startup and commissioning activities.
- Conduct site visits and testing and make recommendations for control systems improvements and designs.
- Drive ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution, office, and personal environments.
As an Instrumentation and Controls / Senior SCADA Analyst in the municipal market, you will play an important part of our SCADA team as you complete a variety of technical tasks in the design and operation of SCADA systems for water/wastewater treatment facilities supporting our clients in both our local offices and client sites.
- Experience with the following:
• HMI programming and application support: Rockwell Software (Factory Talk View ME/SE, Components, Historian), Wonderware (InTouch, System Platform, Historian), etc.
• Experience commissioning of SCADA systems, including troubleshooting and Industrial PLC programming and hardware implementation: Allen Bradley, Modicon or Siemens preferred.
• Configuring AVEVA System Platform/ArchestrA for water systems – a certification is a plus
• Problem-solving techniques to maintain high availability of SCADA systems
• Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development
• I/O list development
• Instrumentation selection
• Control panel layout and wiring
• Detailed loop wiring diagrams
• PLC equipment list development
• Control system architecture design
• SCADA systems and networks
- Ability to mentor, train, and delegate work to others domestically and abroad
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation and Automation, or a related field.
- Experience in working with engineering disciplines on large, complex projects design projects to incorporate equipment, process, and facility control concepts.
- 5-10 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment process automation
- Experience with I&C Systems Integration design
- Experience in developing reports from Historian
- Networking experience: EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP etc.
- Database experience: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL
- Operating System experience: Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2019
