The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the sterilization engineering function and associated staff. The Senior Engineering Manager is expected to establish, develop and maintain engineering methodologies, systems and practices to meet BSC, customer and regulatory requirements as well as drive and support Lean, LBP and VIP initiatives. This role is also expected to devote time to leadership and staff development responsibilities while promoting the BSC code of conduct, values and behaviors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Establish and drive departmental goals designed to achieve plant/department costs and budget objectives
- Identify and implement effective commissioning and validation processes; support the development, qualification and on-going quality sterilization equipment and facilities to meet internal and external requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams, such as Global Sterilization Assurance, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, etc., to achieve organizational objectives
- Partner with the EH&S and Quality Systems teams to enforce compliance with environmental and quality standards
- Manage sterilization equipment upgrades and support maintenance in returning to service of sterilization equipment
- Support the installation of ancillary equipment supporting sterilization, building control systems, HVAC equipment, etc. (i.e., pumps, boilers, air handling units, air compressors, cooling towers, process gas systems and chillers)
- Proactively identify and resolve issues
- Drive, promote and support involvement, direction and accountability on key business initiatives (i.e., Lean, LBP, Six Sigma, DE&I, employee engagement, etc.).
- Coach and develop engineering staff to achieve goals; provide strong guidance and supervision
- Recruit and maintain a high-quality staff
- Monitor and ensure compliance to promote a safe work environment.
- Create and revise company/departmental policies and procedures as required
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in a medical device/healthcare
- 5+ years of experience in leadership and people management
- Ability to champion new ideas and techniques designed to nurture an environment that encourages and supports innovation
- Ability to direct and control the activities and budget for functional area, projects, and/or programs.
- Strong people-management and leadership skills with ability to drive high-performance within a safety and quality-focused environment
- Customer-focused with the ability to identify current and future needs and exceed customer expectations
- Commitment to patient and employee safety and product quality
- Ability to establish credibility by performing and leading with integrity and professionalism

Maximum Salary: $ 243000
