The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to partner with the IT Finance Leader. In this role, you willprovide financial management and support to our IT department, ensuring effective financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving change and simplification, managing cross-functional relationships, and confidently engaging with VP+ level executives.
  • Must be adept at challenging the status quo and pushing the envelope to achieve excellence.
  • Lead the financial management activities for the Global IT department.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support IT initiatives and projects.
  • Drive the zero-based budgeting process to ensure optimal allocation of resources.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, to stakeholders, including VP+ level executives.
  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessments for IT investments and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the IT and finance functions and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and streamline financial processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Six (6) years of combined experience in accounting and/or financial management in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint & SAP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices within a finance function.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
