Managed Services is a critical component of the EY growth strategy with plans to grow to $9+ billion over the next few years. To achieve our growth aspirations, we are enhancing our existing operating model for Managed Services pursuits and engagements.
Your key responsibilities
- Establish a foundational Commercial Management Office to support the organization in handling large and complex deals. Create a dedicated team within this office to achieve its objectives.
- Develop frameworks for managing financial processes and controls across several large Managed Services projects.
- Implement practices to proactively address commercial, performance, and contractual risks, aiming to improve margins and contract health for a portfolio of large engagements.
- Formulate commercial frameworks to establish governance programs, performance management, reporting, dispute management, and resolution.
- Lead a team responsible for financial forecasting, tracking performance against forecasts, and conducting analyses to identify variance causes. Work closely with global leaders and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Technology and other departments to create technology solutions that enhance the office's capabilities.
- Engage in internal and client governance, negotiations, and account team activities as needed.
- Develop comprehensive playbooks for managing commercial aspects of engagements or programs.
- Set KPIs and goals for personal and team performance to maximize EY's profitability and growth opportunities for both EY and its clients.
- Create frameworks for managing internal processes, including revenue allocation for EY Member firms and reporting for multi-country deals.
- Participate in governance forums for large-scale programs requiring extensive oversight. Empower account and delivery leaders to concentrate on delivery, quality, client relationships, and team management.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience of driving the Commercial Management Office practice for an organisation
- Ability to manage a team that brings together the deep expertise and acumen in contract financial management and commercial operations, within the Professional Services domain, preferably on Managed Services contracts.
- Fluency and experience in building frameworks and providing oversight to commercial constructs, pricing methodologies and relevant commercial contracting terms and conditions
- Proven track record of successful change management initiatives.
- Proven track record of process design, implementation and standardization.
- Proactive collaboration across various client and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with capability to lead a team that works to plan, structure, and execute recurring processes and deliverables.
- Proven track record of success working in unstructured environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client C-Suite and EY senior stakeholders
- Strong business partnering skills enabling working across teams.
- Ability/credibility to influence key EY and client stakeholders on robust commercial strategies & outcomes that is reflected in your personal style, experience and approach
- A high level of drive, ability to work independently and deal effectively with ambiguity and change
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 15+ years of working in a complex services environment.
- 15+ years in a MS commercial management role, within the Professional Services domain.
- Legal professional with preferred qualifications in Commercial Management
- Proven examples of the application of commercial and financial skills in the development, negotiation and / or delivery of Managed Services and strategic deals.
- Experience of managing Contract management office or similar experience gained in a top tier professional services firm.
- Collaboration skills; working effectively with groups globally and all levels in EY.
- High level of flexibility, drive and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organization skills, with capability to work independently to plan, structure, and execute contract activities.
- Successful working in unstructured environments and in driving change.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- CPA, CFA, Contract Law and / or MBA qualifications preferred
