1st shift (United States of America)Primary responsibilities will include regulatory reporting, accounting, and control activities for Truist Securities, Inc. The new teammate will learn and assume responsibility for various broker-dealer accounting and reporting requirements such as preparing the weekly Customer Reserve calculation, preparation of SEC and Fed disclosures for the loan trading line of business, preparing the quarterly board of directors' financial statements, working with auditors, and related accounting and special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Provide leadership and mentoring for less experienced team members, including the review and approval of work of other team members.3. Compile and maintain necessary supporting documentation.
4. Complete or review and approve reconcilements for assigned general ledger accounts in accordance with corporate reconcilement policies and standards.
5. Research and resolve items as necessary.
6. Maintain adequate supporting documentation.
7. Coordinate the design, implementation and documentation of accounting and reporting process workflow and controls for assigned accounts and subsidiary accounting systems (which may include spreadsheets, databases or applications), including reconcilement controls.
8. Recommend control refinements as products, processes, GAAP, regulatory reporting requirements or corporate policies change.
9. Review and update policies and procedures for compliance with governmental regulations and corporate policies and standards.
10. Coordinate development of new accounting processes and procedures as needed.
11. Prepare and interpret more complex reports and analyses related to various aspects of the company’s financial performance, internal control compliance, budget or forecast variances, etc.
12. Prepare variance analysis reports and explanations for assigned general ledger reports.
13. Respond to inquiries and provide analysis of financial information.
14. Ensure complete data capture and accurate and timely submission of assigned management, regulatory and financial reports and analyses.
15. Maintain corporate and/or subsidiary accounting systems, which may range from simple spreadsheets to more complex databases.
16. Assist in the development and testing of economic models.
17. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable GAAP concepts.
18. Build expertise related to assigned area of responsibility.
19. Coordinate applicable responses for internal or external audits and examinations.
20. Collaborate with Accounting Policy, as applicable, related to responses to external and regulatory requests.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent education and related training
2. Three years of relevant accounting experience
3. Good interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills
4. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
5. Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
6. Ability to work independently to meet established deadlines and as a productive member of a team
7. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis in spreadsheets, word processing and database software Working knowledge of GAAP


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Professional designation (or candidate for designation) as a CPA or CMA
2. Master’s degree in accounting or business administration Five years of financial services accounting experience
