The Immunology group is looking for a Director of Immunology to oversee the scientific development of our Immunology portfolio, spanning early discovery through late-stage clinical assets. The Director will support both small molecules and biologics pipelines, integrating internal capabilities with external opportunities.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day activities and long-term development of scientists within the group.
- Develop and implement models to support both in vitro and in vivo pharmacology for autoimmune disease assets.
- Collaborate with multiple CROs and internal resources across the organization to achieve program objectives.
- Serve as a member of the Immunology leadership team.
- Contribute to the proposal of new targets and support their evaluation and validation.
- Introduce and apply innovative technologies to ensure the group remains at the forefront of scientific innovation.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
- Ph.D. in Immunology or a related scientific field with a proven track record of managerial and scientific leadership in the field of immune regulation.
- Industry experience required.
- Expertise in drug discovery and development, including hit identification, lead optimization, candidate selection, and preclinical development.
- Experience with regulatory filings (IND, NDA, or BLA).
- Demonstrated success in leading pharmacology efforts in autoimmune diseases, including assay development, candidate screening, and mechanism of action studies.
- Experience with complex in vitro and/or in vivo models is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, multicultural team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a self-driven, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
