About the RoleKey job responsibilities
As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will:
* Optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency for production-grade inference and deployment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers to gather and preprocess large datasets, improve training infrastructure, and accelerate innovation in the ads space.
* Experiment with innovative methods to enhance generative AI model quality, such as prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, and alignment techniques.
* Conduct benchmarking and develop frameworks to evaluate and improve generative AI solutions.
* Publish high-quality research papers while applying theoretical breakthroughs to real-world business challenges.
* Provide thought leadership on how generative AI and LLMs can drive innovation and improve the customer experience in Amazon Advertising.

- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
