Your Career

As a Security Researcher on this team, you will play a crucial role in developing automated defenses against emerging and sophisticated file-based threats and malware. Your expertise will be instrumental in translating deep threat knowledge into scalable, productized detection capabilities.

Your Impact

• Direct the in-depth analysis of emerging malware and sophisticated file-based threats from high-volume artifact data, maintaining an authoritative understanding of the threat landscape, actors, and attack vectors.

• Design and validate novel detection methods by leveraging data science techniques, including statistical modeling and machine learning, to automatically identify threats at scale.

• Translate research prototypes into robust, scalable, and extensible detection and prevention systems. Participate in the full software lifecycle, from architectural design through deployment.

• Serve as the critical link between research and engineering, transforming discoveries into impactful product features. Establish industry expertise through white papers and presentations.

Your Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in malware analysis & detection (static and dynamic), threat research and reverse engineering on common file formats (PE, ELF, PDF, Office, Scripts, etc).

• Experience developing high-performance, scalable tools or systems for automated analysis and threat detection.

• Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages: Python, Golang, C.

• Creative thinker and team player. Have great passion and be highly self-motivated in data-driven security research.

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills;

• Experience with public cloud development, e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure is a plus

• Knowledge of AI/ML and experience in data driven approaches is a plus.

• Hands on and can-do attitude, willing to learn new technologies.

• Be comfortable working independently and efficiently.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields with security research experience; PhD in cybersecurity is a plus.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $139600/YR - $225750/YR. • Help our customers be successful with Hypershield and Cisco Nexus Smart Switches
• Engage with assigned customer accounts to accelerate their value realization by assisting in the deployment of Nexus Smart Switches and Hypershield into customer networks
• Build deep technical relationships with key customer team members and be a trusted advisor
• Conduct workshops for customers on new and existing product capabilities
• Bring your customer's proven experience to collaborate with engineering and support teams to unblock customer issues
• Help create workshops, training material, reference architectures, product documentation, and any relevant artifacts that would help us provide additional value to our customers, deepen their understanding of our technology, and run the most reliably in production

• 3+ years of experience configuring and managing Cisco Nexus switches running NX-OS (preferred) or Cisco devices running IOS-XE/XR (alternately, 5+ years of experience configuring and managing networking infrastructure from another major vendor)
• 3+ years of experience with Linux
• 1+ years of experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• 1+ years of experience securing operating system (OS) instances, applications, and/or distributed systems

• Knowledge of standard methodologies for operating systems security and their application in cloud-native technologies and environments
• Evidence of direct experience using network troubleshooting tools, including but not limited to packet capture and analysis utilities
• Proven familiarity with tools and technologies for automating repetitive tasks
• Experience with designing and implementing security solutions across multiple platforms
• A solid understanding of the pillars of observability
• Prior experience working with and supporting open source software (OSS)
• Ability to provide well-structured reasoning and insights about various cloud-native technologies and security frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to make informed recommendations based on technical and business needs
• Possessing CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, DevNet Professional, CCIE Data Center, CCIE Enterprise, or DevNet Expert certifications will be a key advantage.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee Go-To-Market (GTM) Activations across Global Markets Portfolio: Aligned to our global strategic priorities and the local market opportunities, develop and oversee the team's roll-out of various GTM activations. Provide strategic guidance to the team and key partners to ensure alignment across various launches.

• Develop Scalable, Portfolio-Wide Activations Strategy, Built on Playbook & Launch Best Practices: Establish a standardized approach for GTM activations, based on individual market and playbook takeaways, to serve as a basis for the teams to use as a means to accelerate time-to-market.

• Own Senior Stakeholder Communications, Management & Reporting: Own executive-level deliverables for senior leadership updates and other readouts, effectively communicating strategic insights and progress.

Strategic Leadership:

• Guide the strategic development of our portfolio and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals from ideation to launch

• Partner with Regional GMs and wider leadership on strategy, operations and planning

Market Activation:

• Lead the in-market activation of eBay’s global strategy, partnering with Market General Managers, BU, and BizOps partners.

Business Development:

• Drive business development efforts that support the Global Markets Success strategy, including partnerships and inorganic opportunities

Team Management :

• Oversee the GMS BizOps, BizDev, and Activation Teams, ensuring effective collaboration and execution of strategic priorities

• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team

Executive Engagement & Communications:
