About the Role

This organization is responsible for serving, ingesting, and indexing data within our feed, storefront, and application carousel experiences. We support multiple data retrieval methods from a high-scale MySQL database. We focus on inventing new and exciting ways to help customers find the products they want within our ever growing catalog which requires understanding the customer needs and building a highly performant backend to support these use cases.

- - - - What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable and innovative software solutions.
  2. Identify opportunities and lead the entire development lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture design and coding to testing and deployment.
  3. Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and elevate coding standards.
  4. Help the team understand what is important and what problems to focus on.
  5. Identify solutions to ambiguous problems and help the team reason through tradeoffs.

Bookbuilding Strategy & Execution

  • Own the global process for building and balancing seller books across regions, ensuring equitable account allocation and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Develop, test, and operationalize the queries, data sources, and logic that underpin bookbuilding

Data & Insights

  • Leverage SQL, Python, and BI tools to design scalable models and insights for segmentation, territory design, and headcount planning.
  • Synthesize complex data sets into actionable recommendations for sales leaders.

Stakeholder Management & GTM Alignment

  • Partner with Regional General Managers, Country Managers, and Sales Leaders to align on bookbuilding strategy, segmentation adjustments, and headcount planning.

Change Management & Communication

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Sales Operations/Sales Strategy
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (query building and optimization) and hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, PowerBI).

  • Demonstrated program management experience — organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.

Scope of Responsibility

  1. Safety Management Execution: Support the implementation of Uber’s safety management system specific to AV fleet operations, including the four pillars of Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotions.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of safety processes and programs by analyzing feedback, identifying gaps, and suggesting enhancements to streamline safety operations.
  3. Safety Program Execution: Execute or support the operationalization of Safety Programs such as Safety Assurance and Risk Assessment.
  4. Partner Engagement: Work closely with Uber’s AV partners and fleet operators to understand their requirements for operations on the Uber Platform and creatively problem solve for mutually successful outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Safety Management Expertise: 5+ years of industry experience implementing and managing safety management programs in a transportation sector (AV’s, aviation, automotive, trucking, maritime, etc.)
  2. Operational Safety: Experience implementing or supporting safety programs related to the use of vehicle operators for development, testing and operations.
  3. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in safety, engineering, or related technical fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Advanced degree in safety, engineering, or related technical fields
