Job Description

Equipment technician interns will be responsible for performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this role you will utilize diagnostic equipment and various vendor documents to isolate and repair malfunctions.

Process technician interns will be responsible for performing technical tests and experiments for engineering in the wafer fabrication area of semiconductor manufacturers. Once the product is on the line, the process technician monitors, audits and provides guidance to line operators. Process technicians also test new products and provide technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Currently enrolled in a Technical Certificate or Associates program in Electrical/Electronic Technology, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Automated Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Industrial Systems and Controls, Electromechanical Technology, or related electronics field
  • Flexible to work day or night shift that will include one weekend shift and holidays

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role.
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Texas Instruments is looking for a skilled Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, equipment improvements, equipment upgrades, and equipment installation. You will interface and communicate with engineering and manufacturing groups across the fab to ensure all issues are solved appropriately and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:

  • Improve system performance to achieve process requirements and eliminate repetitive downs
  • Monitor and analyze all related data to improve and maintain tool performance and address all tool related issues
  • Coordinate supplier service and repairs where needed
  • Prepare the technical report and summary findings and recommending solutions to technical problems

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED

  • 18 years of age or older

  • 10 years of semiconductor experience as Technician

  • Ability to work 12 hour compressed work schedule

  • Flexible to work day shift that will include one weekend shift and holidays

  • Prior experience on photolithography equipment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Self-driven with ability to identify and resolve issues to improve equipment performance
  • Good troubleshooting skills on electrical/mechanical systems
  • Excellent organizational, teaming and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

Preferred qualifications:

  • 300mm AMHS equipment experience:
    • Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) vehicles
    • FOUP stockers
    • Reticle stockers
    • Wafer sorters
  • Self-driven with ability to identify and resolve issues to improve equipment performance
  • Good troubleshooting skills on electrical/mechanical systems
  • Excellent organizational, teaming and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery

  • Designs, develops, and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse big data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for semiconductor manufacturing operations. Interacts across the organization to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments
  • Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources
  • Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers
  • Create and utilize moderately complex algorithms and approaches, clean and synthesize training/test data, create/run simulations, and perform analysis of alternatives to best meet stakeholder requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, applied statistics, data engineering, data science, industrial engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent
  • 2 years of work experience in analytics, data querying (SQL: PostgreSQL, MySQL, redshift, big query), data manipulation using distributed analytics and process technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MapReduce, Databricks), and scripting languages (Python, R, Julia)
  • Familiarity with statistics such as Bayesian, parametric, non-parametric, or experiment design
  • Solid understanding of software development concepts, principles, and theories such as object-oriented programming, functional programming, unit tests, test driven design, DRY, abstraction, modularity, clean interfaces, domain driven design, etc.
  • Familiarity with common machine learning libraries for implementation such as sklearn, TensorFlow, torch, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of work experience in solving problems using quantitative methodologies, data-driven projects from idea to full implementation (architectural design, experimentation, metrics definition, communicating progress, driving progress, etc.)
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment related sources and communicating findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner
  • Support the manufacturing ramp with execution of equipment/process startup, process experiments (SWRs)
  • Participate in data analysis and problem resolution

Minimum requirements:

  • 3 years relevant semiconductor fab experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies
