Your Career

This role is client-facing and requires the Principal Consultant to lead and produce deliverables based on reactive services client engagements. The Principal Consultant will work directly with multiple customers and key stakeholders (Admins, C-Suite, etc) to drive the security priorities of the Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Cloud Related Applications/Services (CASB).

Your Impact

  • Perform reactive incident response functions in public cloud environments, primarily Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and AliCloud
  • Examine compute, storage, IAM, network traffic, serverless, and other log sources to identify evidence of malicious activity
  • Investigate data breaches leveraging traditional forensic tools, cloud-specific tools, and custom Unit 42 techniques to determine the source of compromises and malicious activity that occurred in client environments
  • Manage incident response engagements to scope work, guide clients through forensic investigations, contain security incidents, and provide guidance on longer term remediation recommendations
  • Ability to perform travel requirements as needed to meet business demands (on average 20%)
  • Mentorship of team members in incident response and forensics best practices

Your Experience

  • 6+ years of incident response or digital forensics consulting experience with a passion for cyber security
  • 3+ years in a cloud environment as an administrator, security operator, or consultant- DevOps experience welcome
  • Hands-on experience with architecting, building, operating, investigating, and troubleshooting large and complex cloud environments
  • Understand and demonstrate best practices for architecting and operating in a cloud environment
  • Experience with large-scale application administration and debugging, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions, or automation via scripting or cloud-native approaches
  • Strong leadership skills including experience managing a team or individuals
  • Experience with leading complicated engagements including scoping, interfacing with the client, and have executed on a technical front

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $151000/YR - $208000/YR. Key Activities

  • Assess our largest partner’s current services offerings and guide them to deepen, widen and optimize their PANW services offerings across our portfolio

  • Engage our direct sales teams, Partners, and CBM teams in identifying and positioning opportunities for partner services attach through regular SFDC opportunity report reviews

  • Align core and partner sellers for PANW/Partner co-delivered opportunities to ensure successful customer deployment strategies

  • Consult Palo Alto Networks APS and ASC program leadership to identify and recruit partners into the APS program and to drive Partner attendance in Lab Workshops and other PS hands on training programs

  • Work with the ASC and MSSP teams in understanding our go to market strategy and driving our best practices into Focus partners developing support and managed offerings

Success Definition

  • Partners are trained and capable to market, sell and deliver service offerings that ensure customers success and maximize the use of our solutions so they ultimately buy more and refer us to others

  • Every sale of Palo Alto Networks is accompanied by the appropriate amount of services to ensure customer success and satisfaction

  • Our partners go back to every customer they have sold to in the past, perform Health Checks / utilize AIOps and sell PS/remediation services that optimizes the use of our products

  • Tracking and reporting on the amount of and quality of services that is being sold by our partners

  • The person in this role will be supporting a large team of channel managers and engineers, must be a team player, able to work with direct sales teams and have experience working with channel partners. Proven experience enabling partners to launch and sell services to large enterprise companies with successful results working in a sales overlay role in a reseller or manufacturer is required.Domestic travel is required. It is desirable that the candidate has knowledge of security infrastructure and security operations with practical knowledge of infrastructure products and software that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks solutions


Your Experience

  • BS technical degree or equivalent

  • 7+ years of sales experience and working within service consulting organizations

  • 3 – 5 years of channel or partner experience in selling services and strong understanding of partner profitability

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, both internally and externally

  • Superb organizational and prioritization skills

  • 'Whatever it takes' attitude and motivation to deliver above quota performance

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience defining and building a manufacturer’s services or reseller services organization

  • Experience working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $242,000 - $309,000/YR. Your Career

The Consulting Director will help drive Proactive Consulting Services across a growing portfolio of strategic service offerings including SOC Assessments, Cloud Security, AI/ML Security Assessments, and other emerging service domains. This senior-level consultant will serve as a trusted advisor and key contributor to helping our customers strengthen cybersecurity resilience and advance their overall security maturity.

Your Impact

  • Serve as a key contributor to the development, maturation, and innovation of SOC, AI Security, and Cloud Security consulting services

  • Lead and deliver technical and strategic cybersecurity assessments in areas such as SOC maturity, cloud security, AI/ML model and implementation risks, and application/infrastructure security

  • Translate technical findings and observations into clear, actionable business risk implications and strategic recommendations

  • Conduct reviews and assessments based on frameworks such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001, and other industry standards

  • Provide deep subject matter expertise and delivery leadership across a range of environments, including cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises ecosystems

  • Provide strategic guidance on the development of security programs, operations models, threat detection capabilities, and incident readiness

  • Drive cross-functional value by integrating the Palo Alto Networks product platform (e.g., Cortex XSIAM, Prisma SASE, Precision AI) into consulting engagements where applicable

  • Engage in a pre-sales capacity with client prospects, uncovering cybersecurity pain points across SOC operations, cloud infrastructure, and AI system implementations

  • Identify alignment between Unit 42 solutions and customer challenges, crafting and delivering communications that clearly articulate solution value and outcomes

  • Support engagement teams in addressing and overcoming deep technical objections that arise throughout the delivery process

  • Strengthen the team’s ability to tie recommendations to each client’s unique business processes, strategic initiatives, and risk mitigation objectives

  • Lead the practice and invest in developing long-term client relationships that support Unit 42’s goal of becoming a trusted strategic advisor

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of consulting enablement content to grow capabilities across the Unit 42 team

  • Partner with Palo Alto Networks product development teams by contributing to feedback loops that support bi-directional communication on product features, delivery impact, and consultant needs in reducing customer risk

Your Experience

  • 4+ years of experience delivering cybersecurity advisory or risk assessments based on industry-accepted frameworks and standards

  • 6+ years of professional services and consulting experience, with 3+ years in a Director (or equivalent Senior Manager) role leading consulting delivery teams strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated delivery experience in one or more of the following: SOC Maturity Assessments, Cloud Security Reviews, AI/ML Model Security Assessments, Application Security Reviews, and Threat Modeling

  • Experience advising CISOs and other senior stakeholders on strategic planning, resource prioritization, capability development, and cybersecurity roadmaps

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains including network, endpoint, identity, cloud, and AI/ML security principles

  • Adept at translating high-level strategic client discussions into detailed proposals and project outcomes

  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, CNAPP, CSPM, IAM, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Solid knowledge of emerging threats and attacker TTPs, with the ability to contextualize them into practical assessment and strategy engagements

  • Experience advising CISOs and other senior stakeholders on strategic planning, resource prioritization, capability development, and cybersecurity roadmaps

  • Proven experience managing diverse teams of business and technical consultants

  • Ability to scope new consulting opportunities, including drafting statements of work, proposals, and resource estimates

  • Background in scripting, automation, or use of command-line tools in assessments is a plus

  • Public speaking, training, and enablement experience is strongly preferred

  • 10+ years of experience building, strengthening, and expanding long-term client relationships

  • Ability to travel as needed to meet business demands (on average 25%)
