As a Senior Traffic Engineer in Dallas, Texas, you will work in the areas of Traffic Engineering Design including traffic signals, interchange evaluation, roundabouts, signing/pavement marking, MOT; ITS Design including Interconnect design, DMS and system detection design. On the Traffic Operations side the areas include - traffic operations analysis, safety analysis and traffic macro/micro modeling. You will work closely with other members of the team in delivering traffic engineering projects including traffic operational analysis, traffic microsimulation models, roadway design, signal design, ITS design, signing and marking, and/or construction traffic control plans, etc. You will develop leadership skills by providing technical direction and mentoring to less experienced personnel. As a power system studies engineer, you will closely work with regional and global power systems teams to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a variety of clients including renewable developers, transmission owner/developers as well as utilities.

We’d rely on your collaboration skills to coordinate interdisciplinary work for overall project success as well as encourage you to bring your fresh ideas to work every day. You’ll prepare and manage detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater treatment facilities. You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you develop One-Line Diagrams, Motor Control Diagrams, Panel Schedules, Conduit Routing, Load Calculations, and Voltage Drop Calculations as well coordinate with the Electric Utility Company for new services as needed. As a supporter of various clients, you’ll use AGi32 lighting software to perform calculations and provide photometrics. In addition to preparation of contract drawings during the design phase, the role will require writing and editing electrical specifications, selecting equipment, electrical systems and devices. In the construction phase, the role will require reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, conduct site visits, inspections and participate in start-up activities. You will be a part and parcel of electrical safety in design and conducting arc flash analyses and other electrical studies for our clients.

Responsibilities:

Perform traffic analysis tasks from data collection, reporting analysis results and writing technical reports. Perform civil design calculations, sketches, drawings, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignments. Maintain effective communication with project team members and with clients. Research transit, traffic analysis, traffic operations, traffic safety and intelligent transportation design. - work with city, state, county, and regional authority officials. Research design options and documents findings for project engineers and/or project managers. Assist with duties assigned by project engineers and/or project managers. Planning, budgeting, and executing traffic engineering projects. This covers a wide range of tasks such as traffic operational analysis, traffic microsimulation models, safety studies, signal design, ITS design, signing and marking, and constructing traffic control plans. Perform transportation/traffic engineering planning and design including leading project tasks. Perform civil design calculations, sketches, drawings, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by assignments. Develop solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Demonstrate proficiency in design software (such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Openroads, etc.), traffic simulation software like Synchro, Vissim, and other office production software.
