Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Sets the strategic and technical design of AI frameworks, protocols,algorithms/topologies,and optimizations.

• Makes high level design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and/or safety for the software structure, protocols, and algorithms.

• Determines coding, development tools, validation, and standards compliance requirements.

• Collaborates with management, product owners, and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.

• Performs pathfinding, surveys technologies, participates in standards committees, and presents at external and internal events.

• May interact with multiple technologists in the company to influence architectures and optimize/customize software offerings.

• Prior experience in architecture definition and/or mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant experience Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 3+ years of relevant experience -OR- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related engineering field

• 3+ years of experience in any of the following:

  • Computer Architecture

  • Hardware Modeling and Design

  • Artificial Intelligence

• Defining circuit architecture and enabling designs meeting power, and performance for next generation optical interconnects based on system specifications.
• As part of the team developing key integrated circuit components the engineer must be able to work collaboratively leading block level development.
• Specify, architect and design low voltage and low power Mixed-Signal integrated circuits and work collaboratively with digital designers.
• Plan design work with constraints on performance, schedule and quality.
• Provide guidance to junior designers and layout engineers.
• Guidance to develop test plans for post-silicon characterization.
• Document all design work with review materials and detailed design descriptions.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of BA degree in Electrical Engineering or related filed and 10+ years of experience OR MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in high-speed serial links and deep knowledge of analog CMOS/BiCMOS designs in deep sub-micron process technologies.

The experience mentioned above must include:

• Hands-on circuit design experience of SerDes blocks like Equalizers, PLL, Phase-Interpolators, CDR, etc. for 28Gbps+ data rates.
• Experience with design of inductors, transmission line, Trans-Impedance Amplifiers (TIA) and modulator drivers.
• Experience with design of precision analog circuits like ADC/DACs.
• Experience with designing PAM4/NRZ links.
• Experience with Mixed signal design flow.
• Experience with full-chip designs, ESDs and verification flows

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Optical communications.
• Experience with 400G/800G/1.6T optical links.
• Experience with package/test setup design.

About the CTO AI Group

We are seeking a visionary and technically adept leader to head the SoC Architecture team for our next-generation AI accelerator. This role is pivotal in shaping the architectural foundation of our AI SoCs, driving innovation, and ensuring performance excellence across compute, memory, and communication subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Definition:Design scalable high-level and low-level micro-architectures for AI accelerator SoCs, encompassing compute engines, memory hierarchies, and interconnects.
• Hardware-Software Interface:Define robust hardware/software interaction models to support efficient programming and communication paradigms.
• Modeling & Performance Analysis:Develop and maintain architectural models and performance analysis tools to validate functionality and optimize system performance.
• Documentation:Author comprehensive documentation including architecture specifications, programming guides, and best practice manuals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with software, systems, and SoC implementation teams to ensure architectural alignment with product requirements and delivery goals.
