We are a "You build it, You run it" culture. As a developer, you will join our follow-the-sun rotation where you will be the primary responder for automated system alerts. You will follow runbooks to resolve such issues and use your troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose or troubleshoot platform or Data Service issues.

• 8+ years’ experience in Python
• Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving database hosting issues (e.g, replication, clustering) in production
• Experience in application and performance design using databases and troubleshooting of application-side database issues
• Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD environment

• 8+ years with the build, installation, and runtime of MySQL
• 8+ years with operating MySQL in production environment
• The use of Kubernetes in a production environment
• Operating a database service in a large scale environment
• Knowledge of SQL best practices, including schema and index designs

• Manage exceptions to established category strategy
• Support one-off sourcing projects based on client requirements
• Provide outsourcing category support as assigned by the Project Manager
• Take category guidance from the Category Manager, contribute to strategy creation
• Execute competitive bid events, benchmarking projects, RFPs
• Communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization
• Analyze changing client/market conditions
• Educate and advise clients and suppliers on strategies
• Interface with strategic sourcing team to implement strategic contracts at the tactical level
• Support client specific category strategy – redirect tactical spend through strategic contracts/channels as appropriate

• Promote process efficiencies through focus on automated channels where applicable
• Identify appropriate potential suppliers to fit client’s business objectives
• Negotiate and contract with exception suppliers driving additional savings and value
• Communicate supplier recommendations to clients based on objective criteria and fit for client business
• Track and report supplier performance and resolve any supplier performance issues in conjunction with the Category Manager
• Identify any exception opportunities to the Category Managers and make recommendations on strategic approaches that might be taken
• Interact with parallel organizations in other geos to assure consistent global approach
• Support periodic key stakeholder meetings with client to review commodity strategy and activities
• Optimize supply base opportunities across managed commodities
• Act in compliance with all relevant IBM business conduct guidelines and client driven procurement processes

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary experience
• At least 2-5 years of sourcing related experience in indirect procurement categories in IT category
• Fluent English language skills

As a Strategic Sourcing Professional, you will take ownership of and lead projects, including providing valuable category insights to support and maintain the development of sourcing strategies.

You will assist clients with strategic sourcing, engaging budget holders in developing procurement strategies that maximize ROI, ensure appropriate levels of service, maintain compliance with procedures, and adhere to professional best practices.

You will be responsible for independently managing large-scale procurement projects, requiring strong critical thinking, effective stakeholder management, and advanced negotiation skills.

You will oversee ongoing procurement activities, which includes but not limited to driving supplier performance, managing demand, generating savings, and increasing category compliance.

You will build and maintain open, transparent relationships with business colleagues, helping to mitigate resistance to change.

You will gather and analyze data to provide actionable insights that support key decision-making.

You may also support periodic key stakeholder meetings with clients to lead and review category strategies and activities.

• Lead complex sourcing deals, including multi-stage bids, commercial and legal negotiations, contract implementation

• Develop and implement sourcing and category strategies aligned with the company's business objectives
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate favorable contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify procurement opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a robust supplier qualification and performance management system.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and local regulations.
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in the development and implementation of procurement systems and tools.

• Bachelor's and/or graduate degree in supply chain management, business administration, law, finance or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in sourcing, in HR, Marketing Communications, Contingent Labor / Management Services, Facilities or Travel categories
• Experience working in multiple regions and managing procurement in different countries and through remote teams
• Ability to support sourcing activities across geographies, with flexibility of working hours
• Multi-company/sector experiences
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, processes, and best practices
• Demonstrated skills in utilizing data to analyze cost modeling scenarios and make sourcing recommendations
• Proven negotiation and contract drafting, analysis and management skills.
• Proficiency in Ariba Sourcing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, understanding of cost levers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to build and leverage strong relationships and networks both within and outside the organization
• Fluency in English. One additional major European language is a plus.
